Meet Jay Peck - Guide

Jay is our resident Lake Ontario tributaries expert - from far western New York to the Salmon River - in the fall, through the winter and into spring. Jay has been getting his clients into big fish for more than fifteen years.

”It doesn't matter how much experience you have... you can always learn a new trick," says Jay. And he shares those tricks freely - through guiding, writing and instruction.

Jay's been fly fishing for more than 30 years and has been an tying flies nearly that long. Besides being an expert in fishing for Lake Ontario's migratory fish, Jay also is an accomplished Spey caster and has developed special techniques and fly patterns for Spey rod fishing in these tributaries.

In the summer, when the bass take over the tribs, Jay spends his time on the Western NY trout streams (like the Oatka, Spring, Wiscoy or Eastcoy) and the Delaware River system (East-West-Main-Delaware, Beaverkill or Willowemoc)in the Catskills. Over the years Jay has acquired vast knowledge of the trout in these special places, the food they eat, and how to fool them with his own custom-tied flies.

Jay's patterns produce fish. Period.

If you would like to experience the heart-pounding excitement of fly fishing for Lake Ontario’s migratory trout and salmon, casting to wild browns on a spring-fed creek, a full- or half-day float trip on the Salmon or the Delaware, or honing your fly-fishing skills, Jay Peck is your guide.

Get out on the water with Jay. You're going to be embarrassed over how many fish you catch.
